Why we do it
Women have always been thought to be unable to continue their careers past the age of 50. This stereotype leaves us feeling like we have no value with a sense of invisibility. We have had to fight sexism for centuries, but the time has come to eradicate both sexism and ageism through education and sustainability.
The perception of senior women is that we are cranky with the inability to excel at our careers. In reality, the opposite reigns true. We tend to be happier as we age. We have accessed our self-confidence and boldly claimed who we are. Our unique traits and qualities have developed over time, allowing us to access and harness our power and strength.
When you restrict women from leading space in the workforce, you also limit the variety of products and services that can be created. This is not only unfair to women but limits an inclusive variety of services and products that may be generated. By creating employment opportunities for women over 50 we catalyse an upsurge in the economy creating a sector with unique and diverse service offerings. Remember: it’s never too late to change the world.
